Smarter, Faster Content Delivery
Slow connect times, rebuffering and jittery video can cause a poor viewing experience for your Windows on-demand streaming customers, resulting in a loss of repeat visitors and lost revenues that affect your bottom line.
UpStream Networks' content delivery network (CDN) prevents performance related problems. Using advanced traffic distribution technologies and a global network, UpStream Networks' content delivery network is able to route audio and video traffic to the nearest point-of-presence (POP), ensuring that your Windows on-demand audio and video streams are quickly delivered to the end user from the closest servers possible. Our fast and flexible content delivery network services are your best choice for high-quality video and audio delivery.
Global Traffic Management
The UpStream Networks' Global Traffic Management (GTM) Platform maintains proximity maps that keep real-time IP address databases. The proximity maps enable UpStream Networks' content delivery network to direct end-viewers to the nearest UpStream Networks POP, based on their geographic location, which results in our content delivery network providing faster and more reliable Windows on-demand media streaming.
For example, a Windows on-demand stream request that originates in Chicago results in our content delivery network forcing the New York City POP to deliver the media, and not the POP in San Francisco. Currently, UpStream Networks' content delivery network operates POPs in San Francisco, New York City and Berlin with plans to add additional locations worldwide throughout 2008 and 2009.

High Availability
All your Windows on-demand media files are replicated to each of the individual POP locations of our content delivery network which, in addition to improving stream delivery time, also ensures that your Windows media is always available. In the unlikely event that a POP becomes unavailable due to a network outage or other problem, the content delivery network simply delivers your media from a different POP. Having your audio and video media readily available is just as important as the quality and speed with which it is delivered.
